Escondido Sprouts Garden


The Escondido Sprouts garden was founded in 2012. It is located by the Stanford Avenue school entrance and serves as an edible garden for the whole school community.

ACTIVITIES for 2014-2015:

  • Friday Fun in the Garden: All students are welcome to help in the garden during Friday lunch recess beginning at noon. No advanced sign up is needed.
  • Market/Plant Sale: Our farmer’s market will be held on Wednesday, September 17 at 1:30 by the front office. The Plant Sale will be held in May during Earth Week.
  • Family Planting Days: Interested students, parents and teachers will come together to plant this year’s Winter and Spring gardens. The planting days will be held during the Fall Family Fun Fest on October 18 and during Earth Week.
  • Chef Visit: In the Fall, we host a chef to the garden to run a cooking workshop. Stayed tuned for details.
  • Frog Hollow Farm CSA: This year Escondido is proud to become a host site for Frog Hollow Farm. Fruit boxes will be delivered to the school every other Wednesday. Sign up on their webite --
