Spanish Immersion

The Spanish Immersion (SI) Program at PAUSD, established in 1995, has been educating  students to be bilingual and biliterate for over 30 years. The SI Program is a program of choice serving both English and Spanish learners. This program is open to PAUSD students, K-5, of different backgrounds and abilities.

Two-way Bilingual Instruction provides students with many positive outcomes.

Cognitive –

Managing concepts and curriculum in multiple languages enhances problem solving skills, creativity and cognitive flexibility.

Academic –

The SI program maintains strict language separations, integrating all learners to reach goals of high academic achievement, bilingualism/biliteracy and biculturalism.

Social –

Language immersion programs prepare students to become global citizens in a multilingual/multicultural world.
